Gardasil is a non-infectious vaccine which helps prevent diseases caused by human papilloma virus (HPV) types ( 6,11,16 and 18):-
Cervical Cancer
Genital Warts
Pre-cancerous lesions of cervix, vagina and vulva
HPV is a common virus. Many people with HPV have no symptoms and can pass it on to others. Types 6,11,16 and 18 cause aprox 70% of cases of cervical cancer and 90% of genital warts.
Vaccine works best when given before you have contracted HPV.
Suitable for girls/women aged 9-26
How is Gardasil given?
3 doses are needed via an intramuscularly injection:-
Dose 1 - at your chosen date.
Dose 2 - Two months after first dose
Dose 3 - Six months after first dose
